Steve and Terry Maetche
Steve was born and raised in Red Deer. Upon graduation from high school in 1977, he moved to Lacombe where he joined his step-father and mother at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel. He graduated from the Alberta School of Mortuary Science in 1979 and received the Highest Achievement Award on final examinations for his funeral director and embalmers licenses. Throughout his career, Steve has been very involved in the Alberta Funeral Service Association, serving as President for 4 years, the Lacombe Kinsmen, Lacombe Minor Hockey, a member of the Lacombe Chamber of Commerce, the United Church Board as well as various other organizations within the communities Wilson’s serves. Steve’s interests include golfing, boating, hunting and spending time with his family.
Terry was born in Victoria but moved back with her parents Ray and Audrey Tinsley to the family farm just east of Lacombe. After graduating from the Lacombe Comp., she worked for the Town of Lacombe before enrolling in nursing. Terry worked as a Registered Nurse at the Lacombe Community Health Care Center, ER & O.R., until joining Steve at the funeral home in 2008. Terry’s involvement in the community includes serving on the Central Alberta Wound Care Team, the Lacombe Kinettes, canvassing for the Heart & Stroke Foundation for many years.
Steve and Terry where married in 1979. They have 3 sons, Kyle (Jodi), Scott, and Curtis.
Craig Kanngiesser
Craig was born and raised in Lacombe. He started working at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel at a young age in 1988. After 4 years of working for Wilson’s Funeral Chapel, Craig believed that funeral service was a good career choice for him. In 1992 he was licensed as both a funeral director and embalmer.
Craig was married to his wife Miranda in 2000 and they have 2 children, Alyssa and Brett. As a family they enjoy camping and quadding. Craig coaches his daughters ringette team and enjoys playing other sports such as volley ball, baseball and golf.
Craig has a strong commitment to the funeral profession and to his community. He has a genuine interest in the families he serves and finds his work at the funeral home to be fulfilling.
Wayne Clark
Wayne was born in Ottawa and raised in a military family. Upon his fathers retirement, the family settled in Airdrie, Alberta where Wayne completed his schooling. In 1990, Wayne began his apprenticeship with Prairie Winds Funeral Service in Trochu, Alberta. After graduating from the Alberta School of Mortuary Science in September of 1993, he accepted a position with Wilson’s Funeral Chapel working in the Lacombe chapel until January of 1995 when he relocated to Rimbey to manage Wilson’s new funeral home in Rimbey.
Wayne is an active member of the community and was elected to Rimbey Town Council in 2004 and again in 2007. He has served on the board of the Rimbey United Church and has been involved in many community fund-raising projects. Wayne was the finance chairman for the Rimbey arena when it was first opening.
Wayne has served as an auxiliary constable with the RCMP for the past 25 years and is the Chairman of the Rimbey Elementary School Council.
Wayne is married to Betty, they have a ten year old son Grady. They enjoy camping, boating, golfing and traveling.
Rebekah Sealock
Rebekah was born and raised in the Lacombe and Joffre area. She worked as a florist for several years before attending the Canadian College of Funeral Services in 2006. Rebekah graduated in 2008, and has been working at the funeral home for 2 years. Upon graduation Rebekah received the award for "the highest ethical practice, conduct and commitment to the funeral service profession". She has both her funeral directors and embalmers licenses.
Rebekah was married in 2000 to Jeremy and they have 2 children, Claira and Griffin. She finds herself quite busy between her family and work, but enjoys reading and being with friends in her spare time.
She is excited to have the opportunity to work in her home town. So far she finds funeral service to be both humbling and gratifying. Rebekah has a passion to learn and looks forward to using her education in the funeral profession and expanding on it over time.
Ken Oliphant
Ken grew up in Victoria, but enjoyed thirty years of teaching in the Lacombe and Blackfalds area. Ken retired from his principal position at the Nelson School in1995. His main interest, when he is not working, is music. Ken has been a member of the Jazz Casual group since they started in 2002. He also enjoys a game of golf in his spare time.
He is married to Lorraine and they have two sons, Glenn and family in Alix, and Pat and family in Montreal.
Ken has been working for Wilson’s Funeral Chapel since 1998 on a semi regular basis doing a variety of tasks, including playing the organ for services. Ken’s positive outlook and willingness to serve shines through both in the community and at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel. He is very happy to be part of the Wilson's 'family'.
Ralph Bochinski
Ralph was born and raised in Ontario. In 1987 he graduated with his bachelors degree in business administration and moved to Alberta that same year. Ralph managed the Adventist Book Center for a number of years.
Ralph started at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel in 1999 and worked as a funeral attendant and a prearrangement counselor until 2002. In 2008 Wilson’s Funeral Chapel welcomed Ralph back as our prearrangement counselor as well as to over see our aftercare program, which is offered to each family we have the honor of serving.
Ralph was married to Angela on May 23, 1999. They have a little boy, Cayden. He enjoys camping, quadding, auto body and spending time with his family.
Ralph is grateful to have the opportunity to assist families with both pre and post funeral care.
