BROWN, Audrey Irene

May 4th, 1930 – April 15th, 2017

Audrey Irene Brown (nee Stock), of Lacombe, AB. passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 15th, 2017 in the Lacombe Hospital at the age of 86 years after a short illness.

Audrey was born on May 4, 1930 in Lacombe, AB. She met her husband Henry Brown and after a short courtship they were married in 1951. They were blessed with 6 children: Carolyn Bohning, Daniel (Sandra), Cheryl, Shelly, David and Douglas (Audra), 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Her family also included 2 sisters, 4 brothers and numerous nieces and nephews. Audrey was predeceased by 1 daughter Cheryl, her husband Henry, parents John and Mae Stock, brother Noel and sister Thelma.

She was a devoted wife and moved with Henry around Alberta early in their marriage before settling in Blackfalds, AB. to raise their family. They moved to their family farm in 1973 where they resided for 7 years until Henry’s passing. Audrey continued to live on the farm and worked as a house cleaner and egg grader for her good friends Floyd and Larry Van Slyke until 2007. She moved back to her birthplace- Lacombe, AB. and resided there until her passing.

A Memorial and Celebration of Life will be held from the Lacombe Memorial Center, Lacombe, AB. on Monday, April 24th, 2017 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, the Arthritis Society, or the Lacombe Community Health Care Center.
