CHARLES GORDON MILLIONS

Gordon Millions of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Care Centre on Monday June 6, 2016 at the age of 78.

Gordon was born on April 5, 1938 in Westlock, Alberta to Victor and Lydia Millions. Gordon grew up and attended school in Eastend Saskatchewan. He left home at 15 years of age to work as a surveyor on seismic crews.  On August 1, 1958 Gordon married his school sweetheart, Verna Korsberg.  Together they moved many times throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta before settling in Rimbey where Gordon worked at the Rimbey Gas Plant until his retirement.

Gordon enjoyed life to the fullest, filling his days with baseball, golf, skiing, hockey, sailing, camping. He took great joy in teaching his children and grandchildren how to ski, golf, play ball, and fix things, just to name a few.

During their retirement years Gordon and Verna enjoyed their winters in Arizona where they golfed, enjoyed the sun and socialized with their many friends.

“The Gordon Millions we knew, and will remember, was a wonderful father, grandfather and friend. He lived his life on his own terms, knowing no limits. He worked hard, played hard and loved fiercely. He will be missed so much. Until we meet again …. Dear Dad”

Gordon will be lovingly remembered by his daughters,  Natalie (Rick) Stefanyk of Rimbey; and Carmele (Brian) Schneider also of Rimbey;  as well as his eight treasured grandchildren, Kevin Schneider, Colin Stefanyk, Michael Schneider, Janelle Stefanyk (Cory Tennant), Frances Snider (Kyle Snider), Brianna Schneider, Kyle Stefanyk and Alisa Schneider; and his special great granddaughter, Caydence Snider. Gordon is also survived by his brother Alan Millions of Courtenay, BC. Gordon was predeceased by his wife Verna in 2004 and by his brother Bruce Millions and his parents Victor and Lydia Millions.

A family graveside service and celebration of Gordon’s life was held at the West Haven Cemetery on Friday, June 10, 2016.If friends desire, tributes in Gordon’s memory may be made directly to Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre – Long Term Care, Box 440, Rimbey Alberta, T0C 2J0
