Grace Vander Veen passed away on April 16, 2017 in Lacombe, Alberta. She was born on the 9th of September 1908 on a farm in Friesland, the Netherlands, the 7th of 13 children. She was married to Tjepke Vander Veen on April 20, 1933. Together they owned a wallpaper, paint and hardware store. Then in May of 1948 they took a huge step and came to Canada with 5 children. Their 6th child was born in Lacombe, Alberta.

Grace has been blessed with good health all these years. She is survived by her children Hilda Van Stryland, Emma (Dave) Reitsma, Ruth (Ralph) Hollenberg, John (Trudy) Vander Veen and is predeceased by her husband Tjepke, one son Fred (Cecile) Vander Veen and one daughter Alice (Derek) Bartlett, and son in law Harry Van Stryland. Mom has 24 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Bethel Christian Reformed Church (5704-51 Avenue, Lacombe).
