March 18, 1919 - July 9, 2017

We are sad to announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, Bertha Iona Thomas. Iona was a dynamic friend to many and they will remember her for her laughter, caring nature, and unending devotion to those she cared about. Predeceased by her parents and siblings; husband, Howard; and two sons, Gary and Allen. She is survived by her son, Terry (Irene); daughter, Janice (Russ) Gair; daughters-in-law Ev and Yvette; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mary and Mary Knutson; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 21, 2017 at St. Andrews United Church, 5226-51 Ave. Lacombe, AB at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of donor’s choice.
