Leslie George Wadey
November 4, 1928 – October 16, 2017
Leslie passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Hospital surrounded by his family, after a brief illness.
He was born in the Lacombe Hospital and was the third son of George and Mary Wadey. Leslie attended school in Blackfalds and finished high school in Red Deer.
Leslie married Evelyn Bailey in 1954 and together they farmed in the Blackfalds area. He is survived by his wife Evelyn, their children - Loree Wagner (Terry) of Clive, Sandra Beath (Ted) of Drayton Valley, and Donn Wadey (Sopita) of Thailand - 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Leslie was predeceased by his parents Mary and George, and his siblings – Elmer and Winnie Wadey, Ralph and Ruby Wadey, and Bill and Gladys Caverhill.
Leslie was actively involved with Scouts Canada, Lions Club, and Alberta Fish and Game. He loved baseball, curling, hunting, fishing, camping, and playing cards. During his retirement, he enjoyed travelling the world and especially loved being a grandpa.
Honoring his wishes, no funeral services will be held. A private family celebration of his life is planned for next summer.
Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Peter Mah and all the Emergency and Unit 22 staff of the Red Deer Hospital who patiently and gently cared for Leslie.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the donor’s favorite charity would be greatly appreciated.
Love from Evelyn and family.
