Ray Bloomfield

BLOOMFIELD, Ray

May 11, 1921 – March 22, 2017

Ray Bloomfield went to be with his Lord and Saviour on March 22, 2017, at the age of 95. Ray went peacefully in his sleep at the Lacombe Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Ray was born in Vantage, Saskatchewan on May 11, 1921 to Lloyd and Lillian Bloomfield. He was the 7th child in a family of 13. Ray was in the 2WW and earned some metals. Ray married his life long mate and friend Alice Waud on June 17, 1950 at her parent’s home in Lacombe. 

They spent all most of their married life in the Ponoka and Lacombe area. They had 6 children, Derryl (Kim) of Fiji, Lorne, Lily Lynn McCrindle, Pearl Hyndman (Dwight) all of Lacombe.  June Spelay (Darrell) of Campbell River, BC. and Reg (Kim) of Lacombe. 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren. Ray was predeceased by his beautiful loving wife Alice (Waud) on March 3, 2006 plus Ray's parents, 4 siblings, Dorothy, Alna, Lloyd, Leida. Ray had a very strong faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Ray's commitment to the Lord has never wavered and he is a witness to all that knew him. He will be sadly missed, but we thankful that he is no longer in pain and suffering. We love u Dad, Grandpa, great Grandpa, brothers and sisters.

A Celebration of Ray’s life will be held from the Wolf Creek Community Church, 4110 Hwy 12 East, Lacombe, AB. On Saturday, April 1st. 2017 at 1:00 PM. Expressions of sympathy may be made by visiting www.wilsonsfuneralchapel.ca.
