Welcome to the memorial page for

Ross Conrad Albers

June 25, 1925 ~ July 25, 2017 (age 92) 92 Years Old

On the morning of July 25, 2017 Ross Conrad Albers left us to be with our Lord in Heaven.  Ross was born to Emil Albers and Emma (Schultz) Albers on June 25, 1925 in Chicago, Il.  Ross was the second of five children.

He is survived by his wife of 70 year Doris Albers, his daughter Deborah Heidt, son Dale (Bonnie) Albers, brother Lorne (Eva) Albers, granddaughters Victoria Heidt, Sheila Heidt, Doreen (Mike) Hayes, Doris Elveen Albers,  great-grandchildren Joey Felt, Darrell Felt, Alyssa Hayes.

Ross was predeceased by his parents, as well as his 3 sisters: Enid Karlstrom, Joyce Kozub and Joan Pajak

Ross made his living as a farmer, and like many farmers was quite handy. He was more likely to build what he needed than buy it.  Throughout his life, he was a lover of sports, from playing ball in his youth with the Manfred District team, to racing stock cars and weekly golf games in his retirement.  Depending on the time of year, you could often find Ross in front of the TV cheering on the Edmonton Oilers or the Eskimos.

Woodworking was an important part of his retirement. Between his intricately detailed scroll saw work and his crafting of fine furniture, his family and neighbours were blessed with many unique and beautiful pieces.

Ross had an undeniable love for animals. Throughout his life, he had many dogs as faithful and adoring companions.  Combined with a deep appreciation and respect for nature, Ross would often ride his John Deere Gator out into the pasture, with his faithful dog by his side, exploring and enjoying the peace and beauty of his home.

Donation can be made in his memory to the Lacombe Palliative Care Society, Box 5576 Lacombe, AB T4L 1X2 or online at www.ahpca.ca
