Ruby (Sprecher) Cole

Ruby Cole of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully on November 17, 2016 at the age of 91 years. Born in Alliance, Alberta to Samuel and Marie Sprecher, she was the eldest of eight siblings.

Ruby married the love of her life, Milton Cole on March 30, 1944. They started out living on Milton’s grandfather’s farm and, in1956, moved to Rimbey where they raised their four daughters and ran the family business – Milt’s Mens and Boys Wear together. In her spare time, Ruby loved to tend to her flowers, read and do puzzles – she would spend hours looking for that elusive piece to fit into that one spot. Always the host, everyone loved to go to Ruby’s house for a game of cards and treat themselves to her baking.

Ruby is survived by her four daughters Karen (Doug) Harmon of Sherwood Park, AB; Janet Teskey of Red Deer, AB; Wendy Cole (Rob) of Courtney, BC; and Laurie (Stewart) Reeves of Rimbey, AB; six grand children, Shelley, Tammy, Stacey, Adina, Michael, and Kimberly. Ruby is also survived by twelve great grandchildren Courtney, Kennedy, Jessica, Justin, Corlyn, Kieran, Ocean, Rain, Summer, Lakelyn, Bella and Mason; two siblings Phyllis Yarham and Lorne Sprecher as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruby was predeceased by her beloved Husband, Milton Cole (April, 2009); siblings Walter, John, Bob, Fay and Dick.

Special thanks to the continuing care staff at the Lacombe Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel (4937 – 49 Avenue, Rimbey, AB) on Monday, November 28 at 1:00 pm. Internment at West Haven Cemetery (west of Rimbey on Highway 53 and Range Road 31), A reception will follow at the Rimbey Legion (5019 – 50 Street).
