JOHNSON
Allan Leroy
June 16, 1943 – July 14, 2010

It is with great sorrow that the family of Allan Leroy Johnson announces his passing on July 14, 2010 at the age of 67 years. Allan was born on June 16, 1943 at Lacombe, Alberta, the only child of Roy and Myrtle Johnson. He was raised, and for much of his life lived, at Alix, Alberta. The open road was one of his greatest passions in life, expressed through his many years of trucking with his Dad, his countless years in highway maintenance and his frequent tours through the back roads of the area, when he would fondly reminisce about the individuals he hauled for during his trucking days. He had a keen interest in keeping a watchful eye on the weather, was enthusiastic to play card games of all sorts, especially crib, and enjoyed the sport of curling. He cherished the time he spent visiting with his family and friends and never failed to demonstrate his love and support to those he cared for. Allan will be lovingly remembered by his companion Donna Combest, his mother Myrtle Johnson, his children Coralee (Ian) Adair, Tanya (Ron) Hunt and Brent Johnson, his grandchildren Mackenzie, Christopher and Jayme Adair and Cole, Kelsey and Travis Hunt. Allan was not only blessed with one family, but blessed and loved by two. Al has also left to mourn his passing Donna’s family Derwin (Linda), Lee (Joanne), Kim (Jordan), Ronnie (Carrie), Ryan (Amber), Ray (Erin), Telisha and Sparky. Allan will also be remembered by numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Roy. A celebration of Allan’s life will be held at the Erskine I.O.O.F. Hall on Monday, July 19, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with a time for fellowship to follow. For those who desire, memorial contributions in Allan’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, #6, 5015-48 St., Red Deer, AB. T4N 1S9.

I have only known Allan since March 2010, and we met at the Performance Gym. He had joined the Prime Time Strength Building group for Seniors and I became a new assistant trainer about the same time. Our paths were met to cross and as we got to know each other we became friends quickly. Allan really loved coming in to "work out" and we enjoyed having him there, he was an inspiration to other Seniors in the group. He was disappointed when his illness stopped him from working out but he had said that as soon as he had these treatments out of the way he would be back and was anxious to return to the routine. We are so sorry that we will not be having him back with us. We all enjoyed him so much and he will be deeply missed. Our sincere felt sympathy for your loss as it has become our deep loss as well. He was a wonderful asset to our group. Most sincerley, Sylvia Telford, Performance Gym Trainer, Stettler, AB
