Arlene Marilyn (Prins) Vreugdenhil

Arlene passed away peacefully in her home after a 20 month struggle with a brain tumor. Arlene was known as kind, welcoming and to the point. Arlene loved to be involved with the community whether helping at Bibles for Missions store, school catering, volunteering and enjoyed working with FCSS for 15 years. Reading, playing Scrabble(winning!) and travelling were some of Arlene’s loves but most of all she loved her family.

Arlene was married to her loving husband John on June 17, 1972. Together they farmed and raised a family of boys. John’s life was tragically lost in a car accident on January 9, 2002. Arlene had 4 sons; Darran (Gayle), Russell (Marcia),
Jordan (Christina), Sam (Alison); and her beautiful Grand children – Kayla, Davin, Chelsea, Cameron, Ethan, Corey, Conner, Rachel, Jason, Lee, Lincoln, Taylor, and Maddox. Arlene was predeceased by her still born son Kelly, her husband John, and her parents Pete and Ger Prins. We as a family are comforted by Mom’s steadfast love of Jesus. We know that her suffering has ended and she has moved on to glory.

We as a family would like say a thank you to all of the close family and friends who have faithfully visited Arlene over the past couple of years, and especially the homecare that she received from the caring and helpful staff of her home at Seasons Ponoka.

A Public Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Chapel, Friday, October 25, 2019 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

A Celebration of Arlene’s life will be held at Sonrise CRC Ponoka, Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.
