Betty was born April 7, 1931 at Tees, Alberta to Guy and Gladys Stanchfield who were farmers in that area. She passed away Friday, October 6, 2017 surrounded by her family. Her husband, Ray, predeceased her June 9, 2015.

Betty took her schooling at Nebraska, Tees and Clive schools, followed by Certified Nursing Aide training from which she graduated from in June 1951. Betty met Ray when they were in high school, when they were both just 16 years old. They were married October 14, 1951 in Tees, Alberta where they soon started their family. Betty dedicated her life to taking care of others. From raising her five children, to caring for Ray for many years after his stroke. Betty was a devoted member at her church, where she played the organ during worship. She loved Country Gospel Music, writing poems and songs, baking, gardening and spending time with family.

Betty is survived by her five sons. Doug (Wanda), Gordon (Chris), Deryl (Karen), Terry (Deany), Ronald (Tina).  She is also survived by her sister, Audrey DeMaere, as well as 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and four more on the way.

Betty was preceded by her mother and father, Guy and Gladys Stanchfield, brother Ross Stanchfield, grandson Jeigh Rue and his mother Patricia, mother and father in law, Earl and Lydia Rue, brother in laws Ken Jespersen and Bill DeMaere.

Special thanks to Unit 31 at Red Deer Hospital for the incredible care she received. Also, thank you Pastor Mark Brown and the Corner Gospel Church for a lifetime of love and support. Betty was a remarkable woman who will be deeply missed; we will always carry her memory in our hearts.
