Cheryle Magdalene (Chrystal) Affolder

With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of an extremely loved mom, sister, teacher and friend.

Cheryle leaves behind her only daughter Terrie and her sister Mary Lynn Ghitter (Al Stacey). Cheryle was predeceased by her husband Gene Affolder.

Cheryle was born in Calgary and grew up in Carstairs where she met the love of her life Gene. After marrying in 1967 they welcomed their daughter Terrie in 1970. After Gene’s sudden passing in 1971, Cheryle attended the University of Calgary and obtained her Bachelor of Education. Cheryle and Terrie moved to Lacombe in 1976 where Cheryle embarked on a long and rewarding career as a high school teacher at Lacombe Composite High School.

Cheryle will be remembered as a mentor and mother figure to her generations of students, her kindness, patience, and sense of humor. Her other love was to her many Shar Peis she bred and raised.

A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, March 07, 2019 at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel, in Lacombe, AB, at 10:00 am.
