Clarence Olaf Docken (age 70) passed away from a sudden heart attack on July 25, 2018 in Lacombe Alberta. Clarence was born on January 3, 1948 in Lindale Alberta to Gillie and Marie Docken. He had 7 brothers and 4 sisters. He grew up on a farm in Lindale and developed a love for horses at a young age. Clarence married the love of his life, Laura, on August 15, 1969 in Violet Grove Alberta; they had two daughters. Clarence was a truck driver all of his life and the road always seemed to be calling him. He called many Alberta communities home throughout his life but if you asked him, Calgary was his home. He liked the open prairie fields and flat land where he saw the miles stretched ahead of him. He was a proud, hard working and caring man who loved his family, horses and being a truck driver.
While Clarence held many roles in his life, there was none that meant more to him than his roles of husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Lorina (Dan) Dubois and Trish (Trevor) Taylor, his grandchildren, Cheyenne Docken (Tayden Haverstock), Doug Dubois and Jordan Dubois, his great grandson, Kowyn Haverstock, as well as numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Clarence was predeceased by his loving wife, Laura Docken, father, Gilman Docken, mother, Johanna Marie Docken, mother in law, Alvina Hansen, brothers, Ronald Docken, Norman Docken and Roy Docken and sisters, Darlene and Dorothy.
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life ceremony at the Clive Community Hall in Clive Alberta on August 6, 2018 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Cross Cancer Institute.
