Colleen Sandra Deschamps

1960 - 2017

With heavy hearts and many tears, we are broken-hearted to announce the sudden passing of Colleen Sandra Deschamps. Colleen was born Feb. 22, 1960, to Walter and Geneva. She was the beloved wife and best friend to Rene; the loving and supportive mother, grandmother and stepmother to: Chris, Tara, Casey and Jesse of Blackfalds; Nick, Dee-Anna, Madison, Mason and Morgan of Clive; Chance and Megan of Lethbridge; Adele, Andrew, Ava and Kaleigh of Ottawa; Kyle, Stacey of Tri-Cities, Washington. Colleen will be lovingly remembered by her mom, Geneva of Salmon Arm; and siblings, nieces and nephews of various locations: Cheryle, Murray, Janine, Kathi, Craig, Pat, Jamie, Kacie, Geneva, Val, Doug, Aaron, Anthony, Stuart, Irene, Logan, Taylor, Christine, Al. Colleen was predeceased by her father, Walter; and her special “Dad,” Aln. Colleen was raised, and lived, in Alberta. She loved the rolling hills, trees, summers and bright sun on +40 days. Colleen’s design talents were second to none, and she was forever taking on new projects with enthusiasm and energy. If you were lucky, you enjoyed many of her fabulous meals, where nobody ever left hungry, and everybody was treated to her warm hello and goodbye hugs. Colleen’s career was primarily in business and oilfield. Her attention and commitment to her positions saw her excel at everything she tried, and she was never afraid to try. Colleen was instrumental in helping companies achieve success and evolve to the next level. However, she always stayed grounded, and said her life started when she got home. Colleen’s pride and joy was her family and she was at her happiest when she was with them. She jumped at every opportunity to spend time with them. Whether it be a road trip, camping, boating, long walks or curled up with a movie, it was always about the company, not the venue. Colleen was known for her loyalty to her family and friends, often putting others’ needs in front of her own. She always had a shoulder to cry on, a strong back to help, a joke to share, and time for a visit. She spread cheer and love into all of our lives: our rock, and the glue that binds. Colleen, what you have taught us will never be forgotten. She loved, laughed often, and sang loudly.

A Celebration of Colleen’s Life will take place at the Clive Baptist Church, 4720 – 50 Street, Clive AB, on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or to S.T.A.R.S. Air Ambulance.
