He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow
of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my
God, in whom I trust.”
Psalm 91:1-2
BREUKELMAN, Egbert
On October 27, 2018 at age of 87 years, a dear husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Egbert Breukelman, went to be with his Lord and Saviour. He was married to his first wife Ann Breukelman (Vanlenthe) of 49 years in 1954 and they immigrated to Canada of that same year. They had a strong desire to serve the Lord, and together with God’s help, they raised 7 children. Their participation in the life of the church and Christian school was very important to them. After immigrating to Canada, Egbert started his career working for various farms and then worked for Northern Woods until he bought his own dairy farm in 1959. He worked on that farm until his retirement in the early 90’s. While Egbert loved working on the farm, his first love was serving his Lord and Saviour in many different ways. Egbert was actively involved in the churches he attended, the Thunder Bay Christian School, and the prison ministry. He was passionate about sharing the gospel and encouraging his children and grandchildren to share that same love.
Egbert is predeceased by his wife, Ann on July 27, 2003 and his sister Mina. Egbert is survived by his second wife, Minke Breukelman (Tilma) of 11 years.
