Esther Louise Bush Obituary

Esther Louise Bush

1936 - 2019

Esther Bush of Lacombe, AB, passed away peacefully with family by her side, at the age of 83 years young, on September 14, 2019, at her residence at Royal Oak Manor.

She was born to parents Gordon and Violet Dahl on July 16, 1936 in Trochu, AB and the family resided in Elnora, AB.

Esther graduated High School in 1954 from Trochu and received her Registered Nurse Diploma from the Calgary General Hospital in 1957.

Alberta was always home to her, with time spent in Calgary, Edmonton and finally settling in Red Deer. She was married to Roy Bush for 15 years and is survived by her two children; Michael Bush of Victoria, B.C. and Angela Pala (Jerry) of Lacombe. Her Grandchildren, Steven Bush of Dayton Valley, Jason Bush (Naomi) & Dominick (Great Grandchild), Mark Bush of Calgary, Nash Pala of Edmonton, Evanicca Bush of Red Deer, Roger Pala and Natalie Pala (Czech Republic). Her two brothers; Gordon Dahl of Red Deer and David Dahl (Constance) of Mara Lake, B.C. Esther also leaves behind many dear friends.

Mom had an appreciation of music and loved to go to dances at the Legion. She usually had the music playing and enjoyed her extensive eclectic collection. She could be found tapping her feet along to the music, if she wasn’t up dancing. She played piano in her younger years as well.

Mom loved to decorate and took great pride in the home she purchased from her Mother. It changed appearances over the years as mom added her personal touches. She loved to feed the birds and squirrels. Over the years Mom had an open door policy to those whom were two and four legged, where they could come & gather. Frequently found in her sunroom or on the back deck to gather for a beverage. She had a treed oasis. It was important to have a constant place to come together for her beloved Grandchildren. She also spent time volunteering for the SPCA in Red Deer holding various board positions. Her love of cats and dogs was always near and dear.

She worked the last 20 years of her Nursing career at Michener Centre in Red Deer where she met many great coworkers and friends. Following her retirement from Nursing, she purchased the Silk Plant Place in Red Deer and spent her time visiting with customers and friends in the shop.

Mom had a wry sense of humor and always passed on a riddle or joke.

She also loved to travel and loved going to Mexico, where friends turned into family. She had an adventurous Spirit and was always open to trying new things, from recipes to careers and much in between. She rode camels in Australia and went hang gliding in Mexico, at the age of 70!
