1944 - 2019

Mrs. Fern Marie Adams of Lacombe passed away peacefully at the Lacombe Care Centre, Lacombe, Alberta on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at the age of 75 years.

Fern will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Gordon; her daughters, Jeanne (Norman) and Patty (Hal); her grandchildren, Jordan (Emma), Julie and Brittany; her sisters, Marylin and Lucille (Bill), her nephews, Dean (Heidi) and Aaron and her niece Teri as well as Gordon’s family.

She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Edna Trarbach; her brother-in-law, Arnold and her nieces, Corrine and Tammy.

Fern was born in Lacombe and was raised in Lamming Mills, British Columbia, where she met Gordon and they married in 1966.  They moved to Williams Lake, British Columbia and started their family with Jeanne being born in 1967 and Patty in 1968.  In 1972, with their young family they moved to Alberta Beach and began farming.  Fern farmed alongside Gordon until 1987 when she returned to school to renew her license and worked in Edmonton as a Licensed Practical Nurse until 1998.  Fern then returned to farming with Gordon until they retired to Lacombe in 2010.  Fern was diagnosed with ALS in 2017 and faced this illness with strength, determination, unlimited positivity and giving attitude.  She loved the mountains, gardening, cooking, baking, enjoyed the birds and found peace in nature.

A Celebration of Fern’s Life will be held at the Lacombe Community Seventh- Day Adventist Church, 5810 - 45th Avenue, Lacombe, Alberta on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.
