George Ozea Chretien

On the early crisp morning of September 28, 2019 our beloved Husband and Father passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 77 years old. George will be lovingly remembered by his wife Peggy of 55 wonderful years. Together they had two daughters Lori and Crystal, which then had seven beautiful grandchildren Josh, Tiffany, Sara, Misty, Molly, Summer, Ashton, and five Great Grandsons Liam, Ryuk, Rem, Ben, and Julian. 

He is predeceased by his parents Claude and Dolores, his sister Florence Luthi and his in-laws Arthur and Marrilla Smyth. 

George met the love of his life Peggy, and they married on December 19, 1964. Throughout his life he was a hard working man, a devoted husband, a loving father and held an incredible amount of respect from others. His dedication to his family was endless. He enjoyed many summers camping, playing sports with all of the kids, and sharing many holidays with family and friends. 

George worked at the Sawmill for ten years and then became a cheese maker for Alpha Dairies and Armstrong Cheese for his remaining years before retirement. He was quite proud of the award he won for best cottage cheese in all of western Alberta  and took great pride in his work. You could often find him tinkering on the vehicles, taking care of all the animals, and maintaining the nicest yard in the neighbourhood. Grandpa/Papa could be found playing on the floor with the grandkids, feeding stray animals, and reminding his daughters often to get an oil change. 

He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered with countless memories.

Services will be held on Friday, October 04, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Wilson's Funeral Chapel, Lacombe.
