Quintessential Gord Greer Memory
Valentine's Day 1964
Gord arrives with the BEST present ever: A Venus Fly Trap and card with a hand drawn anatomically correct heart on the cover with blood spurting out of the aorta. Inside was an original poem, let's say and obscure poem of the Bob Dylan style.
Now how could one not love a guy like that.
Your spirit will lighten up the universe my friend.

Melissa,

Nice remembrance. Just to let you know he didn't change all that much - he just moved on to using computers. His party was a bit like an AA meeting - Hello, my name is Denise and I too have received cards from Gord that I can't show anyone.

Just learned today of your passing from the Guelph Alumnus magazine. Flood of memories from our Masters days at U. of Guelph. “Ten thousand dollars at the drop of a hat, I’d give it all gladly if our lives could be like that”. Farewell, my friend and room mate, Woolwich Street, Guelph, Wellington Hotel for drafts, rolling home.

Gord was one of the best friends any one could ever have and I will hold him in my memory and my heart forever. He was an honorable, honest, and caring man. We were so blessed to know him and have him as part of our "family".

Our heartfelt sympathy goes to his love, Denise.
Your friends, Jerry, Johanna, and Ginger

My deepest condolences to Denise, family and friends. I will miss Gord, his personality, how he looked at life and his sense of humor. His way of doing science has been the most important inspiration to me.

It's taken me a bit of time to wrap my head around the fact that Gord is gone. He was one of the 'good ones', and has left much too soon. I loved his rascal's sense of humor, and wonderful smile. He could brighten anyone's day. Denise, my heart is heavy for you at the loss of your wonderful partner. He is missed deeply, and you are very loved by the rest of us in Lacombe.

My deepest sympathy goes to Ms. Denise O. and her family and friends. Gord was my co-supervisor when I was doing my Ph.D. at U of A. He was instrumental in me compliting my degree to an extend that only few people witnessed. It will remain our little secret...

Kindest regards,

Your FFF, Linda
