Helen Ogilvie (nee Reddick) passed away at Spruce Cottage, Lacombe on November 23, 2018 at the age of 96 years. Helen was born in Ponoka on August 7, 1922. She married J. W. (Bill) Ogilvie on October 2, 1943. They farmed in the Fairview District. Helen enjoyed cooking, gardening and knitting. She was predeceased by her husband Bill in January 23, 1999. She is survived by her brother, Norman (Helen) Reddick, and sister-in-law, Vi Reddick of Ponoka; her children, Sharon (David) James of Lacombe, Don (Deb) Ogilvie of Lacombe, Marilyn (Wayne) Waters of Sylvan Lake, and David Ogilvie of Lacombe; grandchildren, Steven (Janice) James, Cheryl (Ron) Eberts, Greg (Christine) Waters, Ken (Lacy) Waters, Sandra (Thomas) Winter, and 13 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Spruce Cottage for the care and compassion shown to our mother. At Helen’s request, there will be no funeral service. If friends desire memorial contributions may be made to the Lacombe Palliative Care Society at PO Box 5575, Lacombe, AB T4L 1X2.
