 James (Jim) Charles freed from deteriorating health passed away April 2, 2018 at the
Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre at the age of 79.  Jim was born in Calgary June 2, 1938 to Thomas and Marie Cooper.  As a young man Jim enjoyed partying, camping and riding his motor bike with his friends. Jim met his wife, Geraldine Vetsch through a youth group in Calgary.  They were married October 7, 1967.  Together they enjoyed travelling to various areas in B.C and Alberta, either by train or car, visiting friends and family.  They enjoyed camping, real camping, in a tent and cooking outdoors.  Jim worked most of his working years in Calgary for the C.P.R. retiring after 38 years from the Alyth Diesel Shops. 

After Jim retired he and Geraldine sold their Calgary home and moved to Rimbey, Alberta where they enjoyed a quieter life, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.  Jim leaves to mourn his passing 3 sister in laws, Georgine Lunzmann, Connie (Frank) Snyder, Cecelia (Carl) Arnold and five brothers in law, Bob (Evelyn), Jim, Dave, Steve (Luella) and Al Vetsch and also many nieces and nephews.  Jim was predeceased by his loving wife, Geraldine, his parents, his sister Kathleen Vadaboncour, a sister in law Joyce Vetsch, brothers in law, Harvey Vadaboncour, Rudy Lunzmann and Bernard Vetsch.

 A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.The Family would like to thank Dr. Rylance and the Staff of The Rimbey Long Term Care Area 3 for their compassionate care of Jim.
