1939 - 2019

Margaret Rose McCutcheon (nee Mackie) born June 9, 1939 in Ninette, MB passed away May 29, 2019 in Lacombe, AB. It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Rose McCutcheon wish to announce her sudden passing on May 29, 2019 at the age of 79 years.

Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband, William, son Shane, brother Neil, sisters Jessie and Linda, brother-in-law Pete Beeson.

Margaret is survived by her sisters Joyce, Bernice, Gloria (Ken), brother-in-law Dave and sister- in-law Jeannie and Dianne (Herb). Margaret also leaves behind her children Darwin, Cherylee (Ross), Tammie (Dean), Collin (Monique) and Tracy. Her grandchildren Deryck (Alyssa), Chantelle, Kaila, Brett, Jordan (Morgan), Jason, Billy, Jeremy (Teagan), Devon (Casey), Josh, Daniel, Jacqueline, 17 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and all her loving family. She is also survived by her best friend Lloyd Lyons, his son Michael (Diana), Elwin (Allison), Sharon and Lloyd’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margaret will be sadly missed by numerous friends and neighbours with which she shared many happy times.

Margaret loved to entertain, to cook and spoil her grandchildren. Her life was to be of service to others and she was thrilled whenever there was a large family gathering. She was the life of the party. Her legacy was enjoying babies, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bill and Margaret always took care of others and their home was home to many. Margaret’s baking was famous and enjoyed by all that were lucky to sit at her table or found some in her freezer, especially the frozen butter-tarts. She was a housewife extraordinaire.

Our family would like to thank the home care nurses that took such great care of Margaret and became her friends.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Margaret’s Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to MissingKids.ca.
