Margaret Lillian More:

Margaret Lillian More, a long time resident of Rimbey passed away on June 29, 2018 at the Rimbey Long Term Care Centre at the age of 91 years.

Margaret was born on August 29, 1926 at Virden, Manitoba and grew up in Russell, Manitoba. After graduating from high school, she trained in nursing at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg.  She returned to Russell and it was there that she reconnected with the young doctor she had met in nursing school, soon to become her husband, Dr. John More.

They moved to Gladstone, Manitoba and raised their family there until relocating to Rimbey, Alberta in 1966.   Margaret retrained as an RN and returned to work at the Auxiliary Hospital.  She worked in long-termcare for the rest of her career, eventually becoming Director of Nursing at the Rimbey Long Term Care Centre, retiring in 1986.

Margaret continued to serve the community through the Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Hospital Auxiliary, the Lions Recycle Depot, Meals on Wheels, United Church Women, and any other cause that needed support.

Predeceased by her parents, Edward W. and Lily Robertson, as well as by brothers Mac, Frank and Jack Robertson andsister, Grace Ledingham.  Margaret is survived by her closest family; Heather More (Richard Kasperski) of Creston, British Columbia, Nancy More of Vancouver, Lillian More of Edmonton,Susan More of Vancouver, Margaret Ledingham of Rimbey, five grandchildren, and four other nieces and nephews.

She will be missed by her family, friends, former colleagues, and members of her community.

Funeral services will be held at the Rimbey United Church on Wednesday July 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Deborah Laing officiating. Inurnment of the cremated will take place earlier in the Field of Honour in the West Haven Cemetery Rimbey, Alberta.

If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Amnesty International, Rimbey United Church, or the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre.
