Mary Jean Emberg

May 22, 1925 – September 22, 2019

Mary Emberg, wonderful mother, wife, grandmother, sister, Auntie and friend passed away peacefully on Sept. 22nd, 2019. Mary had her loving family with her from the moment she entered Red Deer Hospital following a stroke, to the moment she left us one week later. Mary was pre-deceased by her devoted husband Wallace Emberg and her son Wallace Charles Emberg, her sister Marjorie Corrigan, brothers Stuart, Douglas and her best friend and sister-in-law Georgie Tween.

Mary’s kindness is legendary and remains her enduring gift. Through example she taught us that in the end, kindness is the only thing that matters. Her family was her life and to all her endeavors to raise us she brought an abundance of common sense, infinite patience and unwavering love.

Her memory will be cherished by her daughters Donna Robertson, Margaret Kool (Larry Severin), Teresa Nolin (Richard Nolin), Maryjane Shirreff (Ken Shirreff) and her grandchildren Edith Robertson, Douglas Robertson (Cheryl) Ryan Nolin (Colleen) Meagan Nolin (Ted) Sarah Wilson (Rob), Lee Severin (Glenn) Christopher Severin, Brent Shirreff (Leanne), Dylan Shirreff (Alana)  and her great grand children Alexander Robertson, Kevin Robertson, Lee Robertson, David Robertson, Keily Wilson, Reid Wilson, Tristan Severin, Kendall Severin, Ryder Severin, Manix and Effie Nolin and great-great grandson baby Benjamin Robertson.

A particular thank you goes to Mary’s special friend and cribbage partner, Teresa Schroeder who spent many loving hours with mom; she made a difference for us all.

Following a private interment, a funeral service will be held at St. Cyprian’s Anglican Church, 5005 C&E Trail,  in Lacombe Alberta on November 4th, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM.  Friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of her life following the service.
