Moneca Valecourt

January 03, 1925 – March 30, 2018

 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother and friend, Moneca Valecourt of Lacombe, AB. in the wee hours of March 30, 2018 due to an unexpected and sudden illness. She was a woman of independence and strong conviction and will be remembered as that by her family and friends that she leaves behind.

 Moneca was predeceased by her Mother: Katherine Korol, Father: Konstatyn Korol, Brother: Don Karel, and her only nephew Winston Karel. Moneca can now join them at the foot of their Lord and Savior which she so longed to be with.

 Leaving to celebrate her life is her daughter Gloria Sitko (Walter) of Australia, daughter Judy Quartly (Darvis) of Duncan B.C., her son Randy Smereka (Elaine) of Lacombe, AB., her son Michael Smereka of Ardley, AB., 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren throughout Alberta and British Columbia.

 The Family would like to express our thanks and gratitude to all the Doctors and Staff of the Horizon House at the Centennial Center in Ponoka, AB. for all the loving attention and care they provided to Moneca while she was there. Bless you all, you will never be forgotten for your compassion.

 There will be no funeral for Moneca as to abide to her wishes. A memorial donation can be made in her name to one of her great passions, the SPCA’s of Alberta or the Geriatric Mental Health Unit at the Centennial Center in Ponoka, AB. if so desired.
