Welcome to the memorial page for

Myron Travis Kinley

April 10, 1959 ~ April 21, 2017 (age 58) 58 Years Old

Myron Travis Kinley was born to Jessie Clare (Burns) and Fred Corkill Kinley in Edmonton on April 10, 1959. His childhood was spent in Ardrossan, Edmonton, Dawson Creek, Rochan Sands, Fairview and Berwyn. He was a voracious reader, master at board games, excelled academically, and was presented with an Alberta Junior Citizen award for his service to the Berwyn community.

Myron moved back to Edmonton to attend Concordia High School and College, followed by the University of Alberta where he obtained a degree in Mathematics and English.

Mental health, and, later, physical issues challenged him during his adult years. Driving around Alberta, he was fond of dropping in for impromptu visits to carry on intense conversations on a wide variety of subjects. Sundays found him in various churches.

After recent time in Winfield, Eckville and Bentley, Myron spent the last year of his life in continuing care at Royal Oak Manor in Lacombe.

He is survived by sisters Marigold and Carillon, brother Trevor, and their families.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel, Lacombe. Donations may be made to your local Canadian Mental Health Association or church. A donation of your time with someone facing struggles with their health would also honour Myron.
