1942 – 2019

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mr. Ronald Harry “Ron” Jones on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 76 years of age.

Ron was born in Stettler on September 29, 1942.  He went home with his parents Philip and Mary Jane “May” Jones to the family farm south of Nevis where he lived all his life.  On July 11, 1979, he married Karla Nielsen (nee Lorensen) and welcomed a new family of 8 children.

Predeceased by his Parents Phil and May Jones; Wife Karla Jones; Brother Douglas Jones; Sister-in-law Margaret Jones; Grandsons, Christopher Nielsen and Blair Chapman; and Brother-in-law Lloyd Clark.

Ron will be lovingly remembered by his Brother Alex and Elaine Jones; Sister Phyllis Clark; Stepchildren, John Nielsen, Lisa and Kevin Thomas, Pep Nielsen, Helen Nielsen, Doug and Bev Nielsen, Ritchie and Harriet Chapman, Brian and Kersti Shoemaker, Eric and Trish Nielsen and Linda Dabbs and Dave Charters; many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews.

A Funeral Service was held at the Erskine I.O.O.F. Hall, Erskine, Alberta on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jack Schulze, Officiating.  If desired, Memorial Donations may be made to the Erskine Cemetery, P.O. Box 408, Erskine, Alberta T0C 1G0 or to a Charity of your choice
