Sharron Darleen (Kinsman) Holmes

Sharron Darleen (nee Kinsman) Holmes, passed away from heart failure on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB at the age of 64. She was born on December 25, 1952 in Olds, AB to Donald and Louise Kinsman. Sharron grew up mainly in Hanna, AB, then graduated from Rimbey High School in 1971. After High School, she attended Red Deer College where she received a diploma in Secretarial Science in 1972. Over the years Sharron worked for a variety of companies, including: Melcor Developments, Woods and Robson, Smitty’s, Griffiths Ford and Canuck Amusements. Throughout her working life, she was involved in the accounting/bookkeeping side of the business which allowed her to develop and maintain numerous friendships with the people she worked with and met. Sharron married Kenneth Holmes on August 31, 1973 in Rimbey, AB. They were happily married for 43 years. Sharron’s most treasured time was spent with family and friends.  She loved great conversation and memories made over a great meal. Sharron is survived by her husband, Ken of Lacombe, AB; children, Rebeka (Stian) Holmes-Farmen of Tonsberg, Norway and Mindi (Casey) Petkau of Hinton, AB; siblings, Karol (Harold) Christianson of Pollockville, AB, Marvin (Terri) Kinsman of Strathmore, AB, and Ronda (Dwaine) Pike of Lacombe, AB; sister-in-law Lynn (Ross) Algar of St. Albert, AB; her cherished grandchildren Oliver and Sofia Holmes-Farmen, and Jonas and Espen Petkau; as well as her many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and a large circle of friends. Sharron was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Louise Kinsman, and her brother, Delvin Kinsman. 

A Gathering of Family and Friends, celebrating Sharron's life, will be held at the Lacombe Memorial Center, 5214 - 50 Avenue, Lacombe, AB on Sunday, July 9, 2017 starting at 1:00 p.m.

Memorial Donations may be directed to STARS Air Ambulance.
