Tom (Maurice Rodney) Reynolds passed away at Villa Marie on July 30th, at the age of 92; his son Martin at his side. Tom has joyfully reunited with Stella, his wife of 55 years.

Tom was born and raised in Regina, SK., later moving to Vancouver with his parents. He graduated from UBC with a Bachelor of Arts. Tom and Stella started their life together in Vancouver, and then added their 2 chosen sons, Bruce and Martin.

The family moved to Edmonton and then on to Red Deer in the early 60's, where Tom enjoyed living on the ravine in Sunnybrook until Stella's passing in 2007. Tom also loved summer living at the Sylvan Lake cabin in Norglenwold.

Tom operated the Texaco fuel distribution business in Vancouver, Edmonton and Red Deer for 15 years, before purchasing a livestock hauling company. Later he switched careers and went into commercial real estate

Tom volunteered and made a difference in his community. He was past President of the Rotary Club of Red Deer & an active member for many years, and past Chairman of the United Way. Tom was proud of his role as a member of the Citizen Advisory Committee to the Attorney General-Govt of AB. He also served as a board member for the Red Deer YMCA, the VON, and the Chamber of Commerce.

   Tom was an avid and skilled golfer, enjoying his membership at the Red Deer Golf and Country Club for many years. He won the Alberta Men's Seniors Golf Championship in 1992. Upon retirement he took up golf in the States over the winter.

   Tom loved his family, his community, dogs, music and cookies. He enjoyed playing bridge, pool, crosswords and puzzles. World travel was a passion. He was always quick with a one liner or to offer his opinion. We will miss his big personality, the active, outgoing, generous man that he was.

We gratefully acknowledge the care Tom has received the past 11 years, with the last 5 1/2 years in the cottage at Villa Marie. So many people have cared for and bonded with Tom. Thanks especially to Pauline, Dietta, Danielle, Susan, & Rhonda for your dedication and compassion. We will never forget the difference you made, along with many others, too many to mention.

   At Tom's request there will not be a memorial service.

   If desired donations in honour of Tom may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer's Society.

   Tom, we'll miss you but send you on with peace in our hearts.
