William Friesen

FRIESEN

It is with sadness we announce that Bill Friesen of Rimbey, Alberta (formerly of Red Deer) passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Sunday, January 6, 2019, and met his Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ face to face.  Bill was 84 and is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gerda Friesen. 

He leaves behind a daughter, Loanna (Roy) Rosenthal, and two sons, Derek (Petra) Friesen, and Stephen (Teri) Friesen; 7 grandchildren; Brad, Nicole (Dustin), Stephanie (Philipp), Colton, Hannah, Mitchell, Alex; 2 step grandchildren; Michelle, Corey (Tanya); 3 great-grandchildren; Arley, Emily, Blake and 4 step great-grandchildren; Cody, Kolista, Alyssa, Kaley.

Bill leaves behind sisters Katherine, Anne, Betty, Martha (Keith), and brothers Al (Lois) and George (Connie).  He is pre-deceased by his Dad, George, Mom, Katherine, brother John, sister Mary, and 3 infant siblings.

He will be sorely missed but we rejoice that he is now in heaven with a restored body and mind.

A celebration of life service was held in Rimbey, Alberta at the Church of the Nazarene, on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 11:00am.  Special thanks to the staff of the Centennial Centre in Ponoka for their excellent care of Bill during his final days.  Donations can be sent to the Alzheimer's Society and the Gideons.
