Alicia Kilfoyle Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lee Kilfoyle on Dec. 21, 2020 at the age of 89.

Lee is survived by her son Stuart Kilfoyle; daughter Cindy Marchuk (Edwin Marchuk); granddaughter Jody McTavish (Ross), great grandchildren Megan, Eadan, Nevan; granddaughter Kiley Marchuk (Brad McCaffrey); granddaughter Loren Marchuk (Jason Hornby), great grandchildren Brody, Kallie. She was predeceased by her husband Harris Kilfoyle, her parents, and her seven brothers and sister.

Lee was the youngest of nine children, born and raised in Sturgeon Creek, MB. She later moved to Winnipeg, where she met her future husband Harris. It was love at first sight  and they were married Dec. 18, 1954 shortly after he returned from a posting overseas.

After 24 years in the Canadian Armed Forces they moved to Bowsman and took over the family farm in 1972. Lee loved the Valley and the farm life.

Lee was an animal lover and advocate, and was one of the founding members of the Swan Valley Animal Protection League. She was very proud of the work they did, and was grateful that others shared in their vision and continued to expand on it.

Lee was also an active member of the Swan River Senior Center. She served on the board for many years and was a fixture at the center, often opening the building and putting on the morning coffee.

She moved to Alberta in 2018 to be close to her family in her final years, but the Valley continued to be home  in her heart.

If desired, memorial donations can be made to the SVAPL, Box 2735, Swan River, MB, R0L 1Z0.

No Formal Services will be held.
