Joseph Allan Frith of Lacombe, Alberta passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, at the age of 81.
Born on November 17, 1943, in Berwyn, Alberta, Allan led a full and diverse life marked by service, community, and deep love for his family. In his youth he was an alter boy and active in minor hockey, track and field and air cadets — interests that shaped his sense of discipline and adventure early on.
Allan proudly served his country in the Royal Canadian Navy and remained a dedicated member of both the Grimshaw Motorcycle Association and the Royal Canadian Legion. Over the years, he worked in a variety of roles including Real Estate Agent, Bookkeeper, and Commissioner of Oaths. He also held a private pilot’s license — a testament to his love of learning and exploration.
Allan was a man of many passions. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life: gardening, hunting, curling, fishing, camping, bocce ball, crossword puzzles, cribbage, sudoku, and cheering on the Edmonton Oilers.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Annette Harrop, Kevin Frith (Gwen), Tammy Frith-Bessette (Jason), Derek Frith (Amy), Bryan Frith (Rei Anne), Brent Frith (Christina), and Keith Frith. He was a proud Grandfather to Kristal, Brooks, Kyle, Isabella, Maxwell, Caleb, Evelyn, Hudson and Isla as well as a Great-grandfather.
Allan was predeceased by his parents Max and Veronica Frith, his brother William Frith, his grandson Carson Frith, and his daughter Tracy Frith.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 PM on June 30, 2025, at St. Stephen Parish in Lacombe, Alberta.
Allan will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the stories shared by those who loved him.
