It is with deepest sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Allan Stolte of Lacombe County, Alberta, on September 2nd at the age of 69.
Allan is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Midge Stolte. He leaves behind his children, Michelle Tiemstra (Steve), Shane Stolte (Carolyn), Janis Butcher (Murray), Brent Stolte (Juliana), and Rachel Moberly (Russell). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Madison, Nicholas, Jonathan, Christopher, Adam, Myles, Macey, Caleb, Eli, Leaha, Autumn, Jessica, Liam and Mara, and one great-grandchild, Ilias. He is also survived by his siblings Jennie Abma (Orval), sister-in-law Marge Stolte, Mae Stolte, Arnie Stolte (Barb Stolte-Monk), and twin brother George Stolte (Grace) along with many other extended family, step-brothers and step-sisters. He was predeceased by his brother Bill Stolte.
Allan grew up in Lacombe and lived on the family farm his whole life. He was a dairy farmer for 26 years, and then moved into purebred red angus beef production. He spent his retirement farming with his stepbrother, Peter Attema. He was a steadfast member of Woodynook Christian Reformed Church his whole life. In his spare time, he focused on serving the community he loved. His involvement with various organizations and charities was done with deepest sincerity and dedication. If there was a board that needed a volunteer, he was one of the first to step up. If a neighbour needed a hand, he could be counted on at a moments notice. If the church put out a request for anything, he was ready to help. His dedication to his wife and children, and the way he loved to laugh with his grandkids was a testament to the huge love he had for the people in his life, who he considered his greatest blessings. He loved God, his family, his friends, singing, and his many hobbies. He was the best Santa Claus.
Allan had a huge heart of gold that went along with his Santa smile and his big bear hugs. He will be dearly missed.
