Anita Lauren (Hill) Kendall

Anita passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 16, 2018.  She was born in Regina on November 30, 1946 to Wes and Mae Hill.  She lived in Regina until 1966 when she moved to Calgary.  There she met her husband Frank, who stole her away and put her on that big ranch way back in the mountains in 1968.  They had 2 lovely daughters, Dinah and Meagan.  They moved to the farm at Lacombe in 1973 where Frank and Anita still live.

She is survived by this same husband of 50 years Frank, her daughters Dinah (Jon) Watchuk and son Hudson and Meagan (Kevin) Sejdl and sons Dustin and Kyle.  She is also survived by her sister Joanne Hill.  She is pre-deceased by her parents Wes and Mae Hill and her brothers, Kevan and James. 

Anita loved people -she could talk to anyone and she took pride in remembering how and where she met them.  She loved her time spent with friends at card craft days, cowboy poetry gatherings, or visiting at Timmies.  Anita also enjoyed being involved with the Lincoln Hall Society, the Lincoln Ladies and the Legion Ladies. She was a food demo lady for many years which met her needs for feeding people and chatting. She loved to cook and bake and she spent many hours feeding people at her dining room table.  She was a 4-H leader for 10 years the West Lacombe 4-H Multi club, and she catered Grade 5 camp at Camp Kasota for County of Ponoka grade 5’s for many years after the kids left Crestomere. 

Anita will be missed by everyone who knew her.

A Funeral Service for Anita will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Lincoln Hall (Lincoln Road/Secondary Hwy 792 between Twp Roads 412 & 414, Lacombe County, Alberta). If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Lacombe Legion (5138 49 St, Lacombe, AB T4L 1J2), Alberta Cancer Foundation (albertacancer.ca/donate), or to the Salvation Army (4837 54 St, Red Deer, AB T4N 2G5).
