July 15, 1951 – January 21, 2020

April passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 68 years.  She will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Philip of 35 years, her daughters Connie (Marinel) Paftaluta, Carrie McIsaac, stepson Mark (Tracey) Janzen, granddaughters Hailey, Andrea (Marcus), Shelby, Jessica (Sebastien), Christina, Ashley, step grandchildren Thea & Josh, and great grandchildren, Ayah, Loki & Atticus. April is predeceased by her parents Emma Stanley and William Stanley.

April was born in Fredericton, NB. When she was three, she moved with her Mom to Toronto, ON. She lived between Ontario and New Brunswick before moving to Calgary in 1976.  When they retired, they moved to Lacombe, AB for a slower pace of life. April worked at Foothills Steel Foundry where she worked for 30+ years as a Purchasing Agent and retired in 2006.  She was hard working and held a part time job at Gramma’s Pantry for extra money, this is where she met the love of her life, Philip. They went on many vacations together, their favorite being a yearly trip to Cancun. 

April touched the hearts of many and made her mark in this world.  She loved her friends at the Red Deer Sewing Store and always looked forward to Janome Club each month, she loved all the friends she made there. She had a love for music, reading, hats, gardening, sewing and various projects. She made many things and hardly ever kept anything for herself, she always handed them out to family, friends, and even her doctors.  April was always smiling and had so much grace and style, she loved her big hats and fascinators. She was a remarkable lady and will be missed by so many. There are many more great things to say about her, as she was outstanding in every way. Heaven gained an Angel; may she Rest in Peace.

A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 8th, 2020 at 11:30 am, New Apostolic Church. 1 Gilbert Crescent, Red Deer, AB T4P 3L3
