Barbara 'Barb' Jean (Coles) Olsen

Barbara Jean, Olsen age 82 passed away peacefully in Lacombe Hospital the afternoon of December 7, 2024 

Barb was born in Regina Saskatchewan, growing up in Strasbourg Saskatchewan, where she met and married her husband Keith, having one child, a son Chad. 

Her and Keith moved on to build and live in Salmon arm British Columbia, where they raised Chad and many furry friends as Barb had a big heart for her pets and anyone else’s. 

Barb along with her husband developed a love of travel while living in Salmon arm. After many years in salmon arm, they moved on to buy a home in Kelowna, where they continued on their travelling adventures in the truck, pulling a fifth wheel, on their way to Arizona, every winter. Stopping at many camping destinations along the way. 

Barb enjoyed these adventures of making new friends and seeing new places. 

They loved the Arizona Winters so much they purchased a home in Chandler Arizona, where they would then spend every winter for some years. 

Anywhere Barb lived she always became a member of her church and made many friends. She absolutely loved her ladies luncheon’s and her happy hours and shopping. If there was a store, Barb was going in to look around no matter what. 

One of her highlights of living in Arizona was when Chad Denise and Derek  would make their way down there for Christmas holidays. She always greeted them in the driveway with a big smile and open arms.  Barb and Keith purchased a home in Lacombe Alberta where she would spend her last years. 

Barb is survived by her loving husband Keith, their dog Toby, her son Chad (Denise) her grandchildren Derek (Heather), Brianna (Neil) and Dustin and her great grandchildren Sophia, Theo and Remy. Barb will be sadly missed by her family, extended family and many friends.
