Barry Lawrence Tappen

Barry Lawrence Tappen of Sylvan Lake, AB passed away on June 28, 2019, surrounded by family, after a courageous, well-fought battle with cancer.

Barry is survived by sisters, Maureen and Brenda, children Terra, Tanis, Taryn (Jon), Amanda (Jason)Trista, Jarret (Leanna) Chris (Joni), Kyle (KJ) and Curtis (Julia) and the joys of his life - 24 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  A beautiful legacy indeed. 

Born in Grande Prairie AB, Barry was well-known in the oil and gas industry but his reputation as a first class crane operator was out-shone by his reputation as a world-class “Poppa”.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 7th, at the Sylvan Lake Community Centre 4725 - 43 Street.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Alberta Children’s Hospital in his honour. 28 Oki Drive, Calgary, AB T3B 6A8
