Betty was not afraid of hard work as she was raised on a local Woodynook farm and very involved in the daily chores. After a quick education at the U of A, she launched a career in teaching and education. After her years of formal educating, she continued instructing  catechism, agriculture awareness classes, Christian Living, VBS, Sunday School and substitute teaching.

Betty was very involved in multiple social causes such as: pro-life, bibles for mission, Crossroads Prison and Ministry and almost a dozen volunteer disaster relief service trips and charity build projects. Betty was gifted at making everyone feel they were welcomed and often followed with a pot of soup (Guess Who’s Coming for Coffee). Her cheez whiz buns and coutts pudding will always have a special meaning in her family’s hearts.
