Beverley Irene (Hill) Hascarl

Beverly Irene Hill Hascarl (denBoer) was born November 27, 1943 in Nakusp, BC to Gladys and Vincent Hill. She grew up in Nakusp with her sisters, Marjery and Audrey and her brother “Hilly”.

She worked for BC Tel and joined the Air Force before marrying Lawrence A. Hascarl.

Beverly was a doting farmer’s wife and a loving Mother. She spent her time baking bread, making fruit juice, fruit leather, jam, canning fruits, veggies, fish and meat, making butter/cheese, tending to her flowers, quilting, painting, many crafts, pottery and a bazillion other things that she was good at.  

She is survived by her son, Ty Hascarl (Angie) her daughter, Kia Hascarl Johnsen, her Grandson’s Preben (Olivia) Johnsen, Aksel Johnsen, Tyson, Brenden, Liam and Ryder Hascarl and her Granddaughter, Melissa Hascarl and her Great-Granddaughter, Mae Johnsen.

Her sisters, Marjery O’Brien and Audrey (Arnie) Jansen and many many nieces and nephews and in-laws and cousins and friends.

Bev was predeceased by her first husband, Lawrence A Hascarl and her 2nd husband, Casey denBoer, her mother, Gladys Hill, her Father, Vincent Hill, her brother “Hilly”.

After Lawrence passed Bev lived in Rockcreek BC, then moved to McBride with Kia and the boys, then met her 2nd husband and moved to Penhold Alberta.

Bev had spent the last years in a memory care facility in Lacombe Alberta. She loved her nurses, the workers, and her beautiful room. 

She passed quickly and painlessly in the Lacombe Hospital on March 11, 2025.

She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. 

Please let your memories flow - I know we all have that “only Bev would have said/did/done that” story. 

There are no plans for a service at this time. Kia plans to take Bev back home to Nakusp this summer.
