In Loving Memory of Brenda Gail Verboon

Brenda Gail went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at the age of 78. 

Brenda was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba on August 6, 1942 to Anne and Charles Goodspeed. She is the second eldest of five children. When she was just 16, she met Warren Barritt of Mirror, Alberta and was married the following year. They lived in Mirror until 1965, then moved to the farm outside of mirror and lived there 8 years. Brenda had four children, Raynard in 1960, Dawn in 1961, Connie in 1964, and Darin in 1965. Her greatest joy was being a stay at home Mom, watching her children grow and taking care of her family. She then moved to Maple Ridge B.C. and then to Calgary, where she met and married her second husband Jack Verboon. They lived in Calgary for several years before moving to the Alix area where they could be closer to her children and grandchildren.

Brenda will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband Jack; Her children, Ray (Kary), Dawn (Rick), Connie (Ron), Darin (Jenny). Her step children, Gary, Jack, Velda, and Anna; Her Brothers, Raynard, Bob (Linda), John (Joanne), Howard (Elaine), Betty.

Brenda’s Grandchildren, Trevor (Madie), Greg (Sheena), Curtis (Jen), Jevin (Raquel), Jaiden, Cheyanne, Brenden (Anita), David (Melissa), Angela, Daniel, Savayah, and Olivia; and Nine Great Grandchildren.

She will also be missed by her Nieces, Nephews and an abundance of Friends from her Church and community.

Brenda is predeceased by her Dad, Charles; her Mom, Anne; her stepdad Howard; and her sister Pauline. 

Public Visitation will be at the Alix Evangelical Free Church, 4619 Lake St, Alix, Monday March 15, from 12:30 - 1:30 PM, with a private family graveside to follow in the Mirror Cemetery.
