Brian John Barry

It is with great sadness that the family of Brian John Barry wishes to announce his unexpected passing on June 4th, 2024, at the age of 66.

Brian is survived by his devoted wife Donna; his two loving daughters Kori-lyn & Krista; his stepchildren Katie (Justin), Danny, Christie (Braeden); and his grandchildren Alexxis, Karrah, Addisyn, & Graysen who meant the world to him. As well as many extended family members and friends both in British Columbia and New Brunswick.

Brian is predeceased by his adoring parents Geraldine & Robert McElwaine.

Brian was born in Saint John New Brunswick on February 23, 1958, where he lived until he was 14. His family then moved to the lower mainland of BC where he spent the next 24 years before settling in the Okanagan in 1996 where he spent the rest of his days.

Brian enjoyed building his career and valued the connections he made over the years. You could find him spending sunny afternoons on the golf course with his friends, cooking for his family and loved ones, or enjoying the simple pleasures a good cup of coffee had to offer. Brian loved to spend his time picking away at his favourite guitars, listening to a good tune, and being constantly disappointed by his lifelong love of the Toronto Maple Leaf’s.

The family would like to thank everyone for their outpour of love and support shown during this difficult time. We would also like to thank the staff at Fraserview Crematorium in Prince George BC, and Wilson’s Funeral Chapel in Lacombe AB for their compassionate care and guidance.

A celebration of life will be held at 19 Okanagan Grill + Bar at 3509 Carrington Road, West Kelowna, British Columbia, on July 6th, 2024 at 1:30pm.
