Brien 'Whitey' White Obituary

Brien White passed away peacefully with family at his bedside in Red Deer. Brien is survived by his wife, Anne; children, Tom (Chris) and Chrissy (Curtis); siblings, Barry (Dianne) and Peg (Keith); sister-in-law, Liz; numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Brien was predeceased by his parents and 3 brothers.

Brien always lived his life on his terms and to the beat of his own drum. He would spend his time trying to catch a deal at an auction sale, then hauling his “prized” possessions home. If you didn’t catch him at the auction sales, sometimes you could catch him at home, where he would always say “let’s have a drink.” It didn’t matter if it was cocktail hour or coffee hour, he would always stop. He liked discussing world politics (which may have caused the odd fight or at the least high blood pressure), gossip amongst the neighbourhood, and even the price of gas.

Brien was an avid lover of the old rock and roll music, everything from Buddy Holly to Johnny Cash and everything in between. On a good day he would be touring the countryside in his 1964 Pontiac car. Brien may not be with us here but wherever he maybe he will visiting old friends, family and making new ones as he goes.

As per Brien’s wishes, there will be no funeral.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 15, 2024 at Homeglen Hall. The Hall open at 1pm and eulogy is at 2pm with lunch to follow. Come in Casual Dress.

The family would like to thank the care teams from Red Deer Regional Hospital and Lacombe Hospital and the EMT’s for the care shown to Brien throughout many visits.

The family requested in lieu of donations, please do a favour for a friend just as Brien “Whitey” would have done for you, or to a charity of your choice.
