Bruce William Bunes

It is with great sadness the family of Bruce wishes to announce Bruce passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle. He passed away in Lacombe where he had lived for many years on January 19th, 2025, at the age of 77.

Bruce is survived by his three children, Darron Bunes, Donna Bunes and Christopher Bunes as well as his sisters and brother, Dianne Parnell, Lorraine Bonner-Lindsay and Terry Bunes. There are many other nieces, nephews, cousins and an abundance of friends who will all miss him greatly.

Bruce is predeceased by his mother Doris Smith and his father Clifford Bunes. Also, predeceased by Lucky, his golden Labrador and Casper his Australian shepherd. His dogs were also family to Bruce.

Bruce was a gentle man with many talents, loved his dogs and his music with a passion for his entire life. His talents included fine woodworking, making guitars and mandolins as well as other personal items he made for family members. They are all treasured possessions.

A celebration of life gathering will be announced for this coming summer.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff, carers and support staff for all their tender care and kindness while Bruce was in the Continuing Care unit at the Lacombe Hospital. When Bruce was able he was asked to play his guitar and sing to the staff and fellow residents.
