Catherine 'Dianne' (Long) Langrock

Dianne Langrock, of Lacombe, AB, passed away peacefully at Red Deer Regional Hospital on October 2, 2025 at the age of 75, surrounded by family.

Born on March 28, 1950 in Lacombe, AB to Ken and Marie Long, Dianne grew up on a farm south of Lacombe. As a young adult, she worked at the Lacombe Hospital in housekeeping and the Banff School of Fine Arts in waitressing.

Dianne met George Langrock and they married in 1971. They enjoyed bowling, softball, and going to the movies in their early years together. They welcomed their first child in June, 1976. From that point forward, Dianne devoted her life to her family and children. She was eager to help out in her children’s classrooms, and spent hours creating homemade birthday cakes and Halloween costumes. She enjoyed a game of cribbage and also enjoyed working on crossword puzzles. She loved music. Often playing in the background of her home would be old country or gospel music by her favorite artists including Jim Reeves, Patsy Cline, Charlie Pride and Carol Baker.

Dianne will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, George; children Wayne, Alan, Cindy (Leon) O’Hare, and Michelle; grandchildren Kailey, Chloe, and Lily; sisters Connie (Luke) Stienstra, Gail Long (Darryl Andrews), Sereta (Don) Brown, and Noreen (Ron) Selvais; brother Jim (Vickie) Long; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Ken and Marie Long.

The family would like to thank the staff of Lacombe Hospital, Lacombe home care, Ponoka Hospital, and Red Deer Regional Hospital, where Dianne received care in her last years. The care, love, and support was much appreciated.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Wilson's Funeral Chapel - Lacombe
