Christina Anne Wild, 81, of Gull Lake, Alberta, passed away on Wednesday September 10, 2025.
Born on May 16, 1944, in Kinistino, Saskatchewan, to Harold William Wild and Agnes (Nancy)
Ellis Wild. Anne was stubborn and determined and fought against her cancer to the very end.
She remained at home in Gull Lake, with her sisters’ care, until the day of passing.
Anne is survived by her sisters; Betty King and Carol Wild, both of Gull Lake; her nephew, Jeff
King (Rhea) from Langley B.C.; her niece Kimberly King, from Wrightstown New Jersey; great
nephews; Anthony Johnson and Jackson King; and great nieces Kayla Hill (Tyler), Hailey Watson
(Allyson) and Jaime King. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her “mom”
Marie Elisa Rita Belanger Wild; aunts, uncles and cousins; and best friend Evelyn Flemming
Lorenz. Anne had lifelong friends in the extended Lorenz family and in her professional
colleagues.
Harold and Nancy moved their young family to Rimbey AB in 1949. Anne’s formative years were
spent in Rimbey, graduating from high school in 1962. Anne moved to Edmonton in 1962 to
attend the U of A, graduating with an Education degree. Anne also received a business diploma
from Alberta College and spent her professional career teaching at Alberta College in
Edmonton. She resided in Edmonton for over 60 years. In her retirement years, Anne enjoyed a
brief time at Sears South Common where she particularly enjoyed the “sales” staff in her office
role.
Anne volunteered in Edmonton at the Cross Cancer Institute and when she moved to Gull Lake
in 2021 volunteered with the Adult Literacy ESL program in Lacombe. Anne had a sincere
lifelong love of books and learning. Her personal library included hundreds of books ranging
from classics to murder mysteries. Anne had over 50 cookbooks and was always going to learn
to cook better. She never did! Within her career and her volunteerism, and in her passion for
knitting and sewing, Anne was always a teacher at heart; and family and friends were her
students. Anne’s personal gifts were often her home-made creations. Anne loved shopping,
particularly for clothes and shoes; and was always ready to go out for a great meal. Roast beef,
pasta and all desserts were her favourites!
In accordance with Anne's wishes, she has been cremated without a public funeral service. A private family service will be held at the time of interment in the Kinistino Cemetery, Kinistino
SK. At Anne’s request she is to be buried with her mother and father.
Rest in peace, dear sister, aunt, and friend.
