Christopher "Chris" Daniel Besuijen

Chris is survived by his precious children, Peyton and Hailey Besuijen and their mother Deanna (Tyler); his spouse, Tryna and her children Ziya and Joel; his father, Tim Besuijen (Malanie); his mother, Sandra Brooks (Roger); his brother, Jason Besuijen (Janice) and their children, Keera Dahl (Stephen), Ella, William and Ada; his brother, Kelly Besuijen; his brother, Terry Besuijen (Amanda) and their children, Gordon and Marjory; his brother, Zachary Brooks; his brother, Kory Brooks; his sister, Kieran Besuijen; his sister, Emily Besuijen; his brother, Nathan Besuijen; his grandparents Ed and Margaret Brooks; many aunts, uncles, cousins and an abundance of friends.

Chris is predeceased by his grandparents, Willem and Anthonia Besuijen; his aunt, Janet Besuijen and his cousin Dylan Brooks.

Growing up Chris loved to play sports, especially hockey, golf and snowboarding.  Later he became an avid football fan and his favorite team was the Baltimore Ravens.  Chris had a passion for reading that went beyond any semblance of normal. Which contributed to his knowledge of many subjects and a lot of useless trivia which made him wicked good at Jeopardy.  He enjoyed all types of music, especially jazz. The last few years he developed awesome culinary skills and many of us benefited from those skills.  He also enjoyed writing and refinishing furniture. Chris had an annoying ability to attend school part-time and ace tests he hadn’t studied for.  Chris was larger than life, or, as his brother Terry put it “100 ft of personality in a 5’9” frame”.  Chris loved life and his family and will be greatly missed by all.

 A funeral service will be held at the Alix Community Hall, 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 15, 2020.  Internment to follow at the Alix Cemetery.

Special thanks to the ICU unit at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton, especially nurse Samantha for the care and dignity they had for Chris while he was in their care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed towards a trust fund for his daughters, in care of Timothy Besuijen.
