Darlene Iva Sargeant (nee:  Stock) December 3, 1931 - May 16, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Darlene, loving wife of Willis Sargeant.

Darlene passed away suddenly May 16, 2024, at her home in Clive, AB. Darlene was born in Lacombe, AB to John and May Stock, the third child of eight. She attended Lacombe School where her dad John worked as a janitor for many years. 

Darlene leaves to mourn her passing, her loving husband of 48 years, Willis Sargeant; Stepson-Darrin (Brenda) Sargeant, grandson Jack; Daughter Karen (Allan), grandchildren Donna (Darryl) Austin, Don (Leah) Kotanko, Jason (Shandel) Kotanko, Daniel (Karen) Kotanko; Son Rick (Lesley) Quast, grandchildren Garrett (Alex) Quast, Patrick Quast; Daughter Jacquie Munro, grandchildren Luke (Jenaya) Munro, Austin (Ava) Munro, Shalane Munro (Kole); Son Darren (Barb) Quast, grandchildren Tanya Quast, Bradley Quast; Son-in-law Richard LaBarre, grandchild Jacquilyn Hanna; Daughter Shawna Quast (Ken Braaksma); Daughter Lori (Gary) Pollock, grandchildren Key Kronebusch, Sawyer Dell, Jewel Pollock; thirteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews;  brother John (Joan) Stock; sisters-in-laws Jean Stock, Jeanette Stock, & Drinda Stock; and her special friends Debbie Crawford, Linda Swartz, Joanne Fawcett, Kathy Eichel, Glennette Smeltzer, and Sandy & Steve Harding.

Darlene was predeceased by her parents John & May Stock; her first husband Richard Quast; sisters-in-laws Helen (George) Gillrie, and Millie (Bill) Dick; Daughter Charlene LaBarre; infant sister Jacquiline; sister Thelma (Nick) Melnechuk; sister Audrey (Hank) Brown; brothers Sloane, Noel and Wayne Stock; sister-in-law Marjorie Stock. 

It was Darlene’s wishes to have a family and close friends memorial. Service to be held at Clive Christian Fellowship Church Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. Luncheon to follow.  Inurnment to take place at a later date.
