Donald 'Dale' Thompson

Mr. Donald "Dale" Thompson of Lacombe, AB passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at the age of 66 years.

Dale was born in Bienfait, Saskatchewan. His passion for mechanics brought him to Edmonton where he went to NAIT to become a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic.  Dale had a great love for the wilderness and his family. He spent many days and nights camping and quadding at Jackfish. When the family was there it was even better.

Being with his family brought Dale the most joy. Every time he spoke to his grandkids he said “Girls Are Trouble”, the girls always responded with. “Papas Are Trouble” this exchange will never be forgotten.  All 4 sons and 13 grandchildren were equally loved and Dale was proud of each of their unique abilities.  Dale will be loved and remembered forever by Alison, Ben, David (Amanda), Steven (Melissa), Sean (Erica), Cory and Heather, 13 amazing grandchildren and his best friend Wicket.  Dale’s family would like to thank everyone who enriched his life during his 66 years on the earth.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Wilson's Funeral Chapel, 6120 Hwy 2A, Lacombe AB. 

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, maximum attendance is limited to 50 people.  A Video Recording of the Service will be made available on this website following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honour of Dale may be directed to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada.
