It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Donavon Arthur Jenson at the age of 81 years.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Yvonne Jenson of Rimbey, AB. Sister Gail Freeborn (Jim) of Delburne, AB. Sister Sheryl Kalutich (Peter) of Calgary, AB. 15 great nieces and nephews and 9 great great nieces and nephews.

Don is predeceased by his parents Art and Iris Jenson of Red Deer, and Don's oldest nephew Shane Freeborn of Red Deer. 

Don grew up on a dairy farm and attended school in Kyle Saskatchewan. Later on, he went to live with his Uncle Albert Jenson helping to install power for the first time for many residences in and around the Central Saskatchewan area.

In 1966 Don flew to Echo Bay, 300 hundred miles North of Yellowknife, NT. to work in a silver mine for 3 years. In 1970 Don moved to Kamloops, BC. were he dedicated his professional life to the electrical field earning his Journeyman Ticket in 1974 while working for Stuart's Electric Ltd. Don Moved from Kamloops, BC. to the Okanagan, BC. working for Janco Electric Ltd. In the mid 80's Don had the opportunity to purchase Janco Electric Ltd. becoming his own boss. His work covered the entire province of British Columbia doing explosion proof services for cardlocks, bulk plants and service stations. He was known for his reliability and kindness both professionally and personally. In 2000 he moved to Drayton Valley, AB. working at the BP Plant in Buck Creek, AB. Don retired in 2008 taking up a passion for John Deere memorabilia and was a enthusiastic attendee of Rodeos, enjoying televised Rodeo or traveling to the live Rodeo events.

Don was a gentle soul, kind, generous and touching everyone who knew him. In our hearts you will always stay loved and remembered everyday.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Wilson's Funeral Chapel - Rimbey. The family invites those who cannot join in person to remember him in their thoughts.
